What to expect on the day of Cellulite Reduction (AVELI) treatment

During this phase, Dr. Li will carefully discriminate areas of true cellulite versus skin laxity, which can often be disguised or confused as cellulite. Local anesthesia will then be administered into the target areas to make you comfortable for the duration of the treatment. Avéli can be performed either under local or general anesthesia.

During the procedure, Dr. Li will insert the Avéli device underneath your skin, gently guiding it below cellulite dimples. The Avéli device detects the tight septa bands with its unique hook, and once the hook grasps the band, it causes the skin to dimple downward. Dr. Li will then activate a blade from the device and gently pull, which cuts the band, after which your skin is immediately flattened. Dr. Li will then check surrounding areas, as this process may need to be repeated several times in the same area to ensure complete release of all septa contributing to the cellulite dimple. By providing immediate feedback on whether bands have been released, an entire target area can be permanently, accurately, and definitively treated in a single procedure.
