Male liposuction is performed like regular liposuction, but there are nuances that are geared towards crafting and maintaining masculine shape. What to Expect on the Day of Male Liposuction Surgery

Dr. Li will begin by making strategically placed, tiny incisions, usually only a few millimeters in length. Through these small openings, a cannula or tube will be placed into the skin and used to disrupt the fat from the tissues before extracting them out of the body into a rubber tubing attached to a vacuum machine. Depending on the complexity of the case, the areas to be treated, and the technologies involved, the length of a Liposuction procedure can vary from as short as thirty minutes to as long as several hours.

After surgery, you will be monitored in our recovery room until our post-op team decides that you are safe to be discharged. You will need a family member or friend available to drive you home in case you are still feeling some of the effects of sedation. During your initial recovery period, you might experience some pain, burning, swelling, bleeding, and temporary numbness. Dr. Li will prescribe some medications to prevent infection, reduce swelling, and alleviate pain.

You may sometimes be discharged with drains to help remove fluid. It is possible to have discharge for up to a week after surgery.
