Generally, Rejuran injections can be uncomfortable, however, the level of discomfort will vary from person to person. Numbing cream is applied to the affected areas before injections to help you during the treatment. During the recovery process, you may feel mild swelling, redness, or bruising. These effects can last for 24-48 hours and are well-tolerated by most patients.

Rejuran changes your skin, and for optimal results, 3-4 sessions are recommended, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to maximize skin rejuvenation. However, the number of sessions required may vary depending on the severity of your skin concerns and your desired outcomes. It is also beneficial to have a maintenance treatment every 6 months to a year to sustain improvements to your skin. Since this treatment stimulates skin rejuvenation over time, it can take several weeks to appreciate the full benefits of Rejuran. After the first session, you may notice subtle skin texture and hydration improvements within 1-2 weeks, but the real transformation occurs after several treatments. Patients often report continued skin quality improvements for up to six months as the regenerative effects accumulate. After completing the initial 3-4 sessions, maintenance treatments every 6-12 months can help sustain long-term results.

The most common side effects include mild redness/inflammation, swelling, and pinpoint bruising at the injection sites, which typically subside within a few days. Some patients may also experience temporary small bumps or raised areas under the skin, but these resolve as the product is absorbed. In rare cases, individuals with sensitive skin or allergies may have an inflammatory reaction. However, this is uncommon since Rejuran is composed of biocompatible polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA, which closely resembles human DNA.
